Weave and TrueLark: where TrueLark fits
TrueLark is now part of Weave:
- Weave bought TrueLark. On May 5, 2025, Weave announced it would buy TrueLark, an AI receptionist for appointment-based businesses, for $35 million: $25 million in cash and $10 million in stock (Weave press release, checked 2026-10-29).
- The old TrueLark page now points to the AI Receptionist. Weave’s TrueLark page redirects to its AI Receptionist page, and Weave still runs a “TrueLark by Weave” integrations page naming Dentrix, Eaglesoft and Open Dental (Weave’s TrueLark and integrations pages, both checked 2026-10-29). If a rep mentions TrueLark, ask which product your quote covers.
- Weave has new owners. Francisco Partners completed its purchase of Weave on October 26, 2026; Weave keeps its name and headquarters (Weave press release, checked 2026-10-29).
BuzzWisely vs Weave’s AI Receptionist and Missed Call Text
A Weave office has three ways to handle the calls nobody picks up.
Three ways to handle the calls a Weave office misses. Weave facts checked 2026-10-29 on Weave’s own pages:
| BuzzWisely | Weave AI Receptionist | Weave Missed Call Text | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What the caller gets | An AI that answers in your office’s name, 24/7 | An AI that answers the call | A text after the call is missed |
| Books the appointment | Into Open Dental, Dentrix, Eaglesoft and more | Into qualified dental software; otherwise it takes a request | Not on its own: it sends a text |
| Available | Now; most offices are live within an hour | Early access | Yes |
| Languages | English, Spanish and 13 more | Language switching listed as coming soon | Not applicable |
| Works with your current phones | Yes, Weave’s included, through call forwarding | Built into the Weave platform, Weave says | Part of Weave’s phones |
| Price | $289 or $389 a month, month to month (pricing) | Quote-only | In Weave’s base plan, from $199/mo (Weave plans) |
Missed Call Text answers a missed call with a text, so the patient still has to write back. Weave’s AI Receptionist answers the call, but it’s in early access and books only for qualified software. BuzzWisely answers and books today, on the phones you already have.
Questions to ask Weave before you add it
Ask Weave these questions before you add its AI Receptionist:
- Is it live for my office, or early access? What changes at full release?
- Does it book into my practice software, or take requests my team approves? Is my software, and my version of it, on the qualified list?
- What does it cost, messaging only and voice plus messaging, and how is it billed: per location, per minute, per call?
- How long does the early-access discount last, and what’s the price after 2026?
- When does it pick up? After a set number of rings, when lines are busy, after hours? Who sets that?
- How does a caller reach a person, during office hours and after?
- Which languages work today? Language switching is listed as coming soon.
- Who handles recording and AI disclosures? Weave’s AI Receptionist Terms say calls may be recorded, with recording on by default, and that the practice is responsible for any required disclosures, including telling callers they’re talking to an AI where the law requires it (AI Receptionist Terms, last updated October 2, 2026, checked 2026-10-29). Ask how the greeting handles this. Ask every vendor, us included.
- Will you sign a business associate agreement (BAA) that covers the AI Receptionist?
- Can we test it on real calls before we commit?
How BuzzWisely helps with the calls your team can’t get to
BuzzWisely publishes this comparison.
BuzzWisely is an AI receptionist built for dental offices by a dentist who owns five practices. It answers calls 24/7 in English, Spanish and 13 more languages, books appointments into an office’s scheduling software, and works alongside the phone system an office already has, Weave included. From $289 a month (Nectar) or $389 (Honey), month to month, with a 10-day trial for $5, and most offices are live within an hour. For the other AI receptionists at month-to-month prices, see the Weave alternatives guide.
In the five dental offices behind BuzzWisely, the team answers first and the AI takes any call nobody picks up within two rings. The Two-Rings Rule comes from Bonded: It Isn’t the Composite Holding Your Dental Practice Together, the book about what really keeps a dental office running.
